Eurocodes – Evolution and Ease of Use. How it will benefit you?

Venue: London, The Institution of Structural Engineers

Organizer: British Standards Institution and The Institution of Structural Engineers

The first generation of Structural Eurocodes (EN 1990 – EN 1999), at the time of their publication prior to 007, were considered to be the most comprehensive and advanced suite of design standards in the world. Their impact has been considerable. It has been estimated that they are used by approximately 500 000 professional engineers across Europe, and many other worldwide.

The current revision of Structural Eurocodes is under way, in the form of the CEN/TC 250 work programme developed in response to Mandate M/515. The focus is on ensuring the Eurocodes remain fully up to date through embracing new methods, new materials, and new regulatory and market requirements. Objectives also include further harmonisation and a major effort to improve the ease of use of the suite of standards for practical users.

This event will include presentations by technical experts with direct practical experience of the Eurocode work programme, who will explain some of the recent technical improvements and drafting revisions.

Attendees are invited to send questions in advance or to bring them on the day; active participation by the audience will be encouraged.

This event is free to attend, but spaces are limited and will be issued on a first-come-first-served basis. The deadline for registration is the 8 November 2018.

Do not miss this opportunity to influence the development of the Eurocodes, hear the latest news on the evolution of the Structural Eurocodes and speak with those directly involved in the Eurocodes work programme.

More details on the event and the link for registration can be found in the event link "Further information" below.
