Abstract

Since July 2009 Eurocode 7, part 1: general rules and part 2: ground investigation and testing are considered state of technology for planning and execution of geotechnical works such as spread and pile foundations, retaining structures, anchorages or overall stability. The main change introduced by Eurocode 7 is the use of the semi-probabilistic concept of safety and the use of partial factors of safety. To facilitate implementation, this new concept is presented in detail in this manual in three volumes which also provides worked examples: Part 1: Practical examples - General, retaining structures, overall stability Part 2: Practical examples - Spread foundations, pile foundations Part 3: Practical examples - Anchors, uplift, hydraulic failure, static equilibrium (in preparation) ISBN 978-3-85402-174-2
