Second generation of Eurocode EN 1992 ‘Eurocode 2: Design of concrete structures’ - Key changes

This event belongs to a series of webinars (October–November 2026) delivered by experts from CEN/TC 250 'Structural Eurocodes', focusing on the technical background for the main changes in the second-generation Eurocodes.

  • Training and workshops

Experts from CEN/TC 250/SC 2, the technical committee in charge of the maintenance of Eurocode 2 — Design of concrete structures, will provide a record of the deep technical background that supported the development of the second-generation Eurocode 2, explain what has changed and why, highlight the benefits of this second generation, and disseminate sources of information useful as design support.

This major revision introduces significant improvements to the framework governing concrete structure design across Europe. Key enhancements include increased ease-of-use through consistent models and tables, a reduced number of Nationally Determined Parameters with improved justification, and an extended scope covering new materials, assessment of existing structures, and cracking analysis. The webinar will address the main technical changes through dedicated sessions on durability, analysis, ultimate and serviceability limit states, detailing, and structural fire design, illustrated with practical design examples for both building and bridge structures.

Participation to this webinar is free. Please register at: Webinar second generation of Eurocode EN 1992.

Registration will close 10 days before the date of the webinar.
