Extreme snow loads are critical for designing and managing infrastructures, and are expected to change under climate change. Information about current and future extreme snow loads is required for many applications. The FPCUP SNOWLOADS project aims to provide pan-European information on extreme snow loads under current and future climate conditions, using Copernicus data, based on regional climate projections and snow cover models.
This online workshop will focus on the presentation of the FPCUP SNOWLOADS C3S app, a user-friendly platform that provides interactive maps with information on snow loads in Europe. Case studies in regions such as Bavaria (Germany), Uusimaa (Finland), and Lombardia (Italy) will be highlighted, demonstrating the importance of accurate snow load information for infrastructure design and management. The objective is to provide users with the necessary information to use the application effectively and collect feedback to improve the provision of information on extreme snow loads in Europe.
The online workshop will take place on June 12, 2025, from 9:30 to 12:00 (CEST). Registration is free and open until May 30, 2025.
