2nd Generation of Eurocode 2 on Concrete Structures - Presentation of the Special Issue of Hormigón y Acero

The Spanish Association of Structural Engineering (ACHE) – a non-profit organisation affiliated to fib (International Federation for Structural Concrete) – aims to promote progress of all kinds relating to structures and channels Spanish participation in similar international associations. To this end, it promotes research, teaching, dissemination, continuous training and pre-normalisation activities. Among others, it publishes technical monographs and the quarterly journal Hormigón y Acero (Concrete and Steel).

This one-day conference will present the most relevant changes in the Second Generation Eurocode 2 to the worldwide technical community. Lectures will be delivered by invited speakers from Switzerland, United Kingdom and Italy, as well as by Spanish speakers involved in the preparation of Second Generation Eurocode 2. The conference will introduce the special issue n° 299-300 of Hormigón y Acerodedicated to the Second Generation Eurocode 2. The publication features 15 papers by members of the European Subcommittee CEN TC250/SC2 Eurocode 2 and the Spanish Mirror Group UNE CTN140/SC2 Eurocódigo 2.

The event is coordinated by Jesús Rodríguez, chairman of UNE CTN140/SC2 and associate editor of the Special Issue.

The conference will be held on 17 October 2023 in Madrid, Spain, at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Caminos, Canales y Puertos, Retiro Building (former Escuela de Ingenieros de Obras Públicas).
