EN 1991: Actions on Structures

The course is intended for practising engineers at all levels and should be extremely beneficial for all designers. In March 2010, BSI Codes of Practice for the design of structures will be withdrawn, and replaced by the Structural Eurocodes. With regard to loadings BS 6399 Parts 1, 2 and 3 and BS 648 will be replaced by EN 1991: Eurocode 1: Actions on Structures. The objective of the CPD event is to describe the Eurocode loading codes relating to buildings. The parts of EN 1991 that will be covered are shown in the programme. A short introduction will also be given on the clauses relating to Actions in the key head Eurocode EN 1990: Basis of Structural Design. Both the Eurocode and the National Annex clauses will be explained and there will be an illustrative example.
