Reinforced Concrete Detailing of Building Structures

Structural detailing and scheduling is the link between design and construction. It is the responsibility of the designer to specify design requirements and the responsibility of the detailer to produce and communicate the details in a clear and consistent way to the construction site or fabrication facility. Good detailing has far reaching effects and can have a significant influence on the technical correctness, safety, buildability and cost of structural design.

This two-day course delivers the essential knowledge to enable clear and unambiguous detailing and scheduling to be produced for building structures. Aimed at the structural CAD technician the course will deliver the knowledge necessary to produce robust and rigorous detailing and scheduling of structural concrete for building structures. Using a significant tutorial based element throughout, delegates will be expected to assimilate typical Engineers information and produce robust details and schedules for the common structural elements such as columns, beams and slabs.

The course will also benefit the graduate engineer, ensuring they understand the details that have been produced for their designs and appreciating the information required to allow the detailer to produce robust details and schedules on structural projects. Incorporating the latest advice from the IStructE / Concrete Society / Dti 3rd edition of "Standard Method of Detailing Structural Concrete", and Eurocode 2: Design of Concrete Structures and complaint with current UK practice this course is a comprehensive introduction to Reinforced Concrete Detailing of Building Structures.
