Design to Eurocode 6: Masonry

This event will deal with the background to the Eurocodes, how they are organised and where Eurocode 6 fits into the suite. Some aspects of the Code are quite different to those with which we have been used to, for example, compressive strength design, and the differences will be explained. Some aspects are rather similar, such as lateral load design, and some are somewhat more limited, such as those on reinforced and prestressed masonry design. Each of these will be covered with emphasis on the new approach. All of the speakers have been deeply involved in the development of the Eurocode 6 both from the point of view of establishing the UK position and in the discussions in the European Standards body (CEN).
