The Second-Generation Eurocodes workshop (online, 3-5 June 2025)

More than 2200 registered participants had the opportunity to join on 3-5 June 2025, the Second-Generation Eurocodes Workshop – an online event organized by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC).

This workshop was a unique opportunity to highlight the key changes and benefits of the Second-Generation Eurocodes, illustrated through examples and applications presented by the Eurocodes writers themselves. 

Almost 40 experts from the CEN Technical Committee 250 ‘Structural Eurocodes’ discussed the updates in the new generation of the standards, addressing an audience of professionals, national authorities, national standards bodies, and researchers; many questions asked to the speakers showcased the high interest and engagement of the audience.

In two days and a half, an overview of the Eurocodes evolution process, and the complete range of the Second-Generation Eurocodes were presented – covering the existing standards EN1990 to EN1999, but also the novel Eurocode on structural glass (EN 19100), and the new CEN Technical Specifications for fibre-polymer composite structures (CEN/TS 19101) and tensioned membrane structures (CEN/TS 19102).
