At the end of 2025, two significant milestones were achieved in the evolution towards the second-generation Eurocodes:
- All the Formal Votes of the Eurocodes' parts under European Commission Mandate M/515 were successfully completed in November 2025, exactly on time as per the work programme. This was a target set in 2020 by the CEN Technical Committee 250 'Structural Eurocodes' to align with the common Date of Withdrawal (DoW) of 30 March 2028 for all the Eurocode parts. DoW is the latest date by which the national standards conflicting with the EN standards (in this case, the first generation Eurocode parts) must be withdrawn.
- Furthermore, all the M/515 Eurocode Formal Votes highlight a very high level of international consensus on the second-generation Eurocodes. Alongside, CEN/TC 250 also received constructive comments that can help inform early amendments and the future work of Eurocodes maintenance and update.
You can check the current status of each part of the second-generation Eurocodes at this page.
