Design of Steel Structures to Eurocode 3 - The Workshop

Eurocode 3 is the new standard for design of steel structures and covers many forms of steel construction. It is a robust and rigorous design code and but takes a less prescriptive approach to design. As such it offers flexibility and opportunity in design but will require clear understanding and careful application.

This two day course delivers a comprehensive and detailed review of the use and application of Eurocode 3 for the design of steel building structures. It considers all the key aspects of structural steel design including structural behaviour, materials, structural components and joints. For each aspect Eurocode design concepts are explained and discussed in detail including departure from existing practice (BS 5950). The learning is reinforced through extensive worked examples and tutorials.
